Overview

Wott ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that tracks how much time you spend on each website. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

Data We Collect

The Extension collects the following data while you browse:

  • Domain names of websites you visit
  • Page titles and favicons
  • Time spent on each domain

How Data Is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). No data is transmitted to any external server, third party, or cloud service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with any third parties. Your browsing data never leaves your browser.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each for a specific purpose:

  • tabs — Detect which website you are viewing and when you switch tabs.
  • activeTab — Access the URL and title of the currently active tab.
  • idle — Detect when you are idle or have locked your screen, so inactive time is not counted.
  • storage — Save usage data locally on your device.
  • alarms — Periodically save tracking data to prevent data loss when the browser suspends the background process.

Remote Code

The Extension does not load or execute any remotely hosted code. All code is bundled within the extension package.

Data Retention

Data is stored locally for as long as the Extension is installed. You can clear your data at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing Chrome's extension storage.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
